Recommended Memory Related SNMP Helpers Sensors

A selection of recommended memory related sensors provided for Windows Systems by SNMP Helper that you should monitor using PRTG Traffic Grapher and/or IPCheck Server Monitor.

Memory Pages per Sec

The ?memory pages per sec? counter indicates the number of paging operations to disk during the measuring interval, and this is the primary counter to watch for indication of possible insufficient RAM to meet your server's needs. A good idea is to configure a notification that triggers when the number of pages per second exceeds 50 per paging disk on your system.

Memory Available Kbytes

If the counter ?memory available kbytes" is greater than 10% of the actual RAM in your machine then you probably have more than enough RAM and don't need to worry. If you see a long term downward trend you may experience a memory leak in one of your processes. You should use the taskmanager or monitor the ?process working set? for all suspicious processes which shows the number of bytes used by each process.

Page File Usage

If the value for ?paging file percent usage? (SNMP Helper Pro) reaches 70% or more you should consider increasing the pagefile size.
