How IPCheck stores its data. How to backup IPCheck's data.

The configuration of IPCheck Server Monitor (including the users/groups/servers/sensors) is stored in the following locations:
- The users, groups, servers and sensors are stored in the main database (ipcheck.fdb in the program's installation directory, usually c:\program files\ipcheck server monitor 5). This file is locked by the application as long as the IPCheck webserver process is active, so you would need stop monitoring to backup this file which is not a good idea for a monitoring software.
- To solve this every night the data from the main database is copied into the backup database (ipcbackup.fdb in the program's installation directory). This file should be backed up daily.
- Historic sensor data is stored in the subfolders of the Monitoring Database folder, each single folder contains the data for one calendar day. Only the files in today's folder are accessed, previous data can be backed up at any time
- Some settings are stored in the registry (e.g. smtp server settings or hostname and port of the IPCheck web server) in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Paessler/IPCheck
- If you have edited the email templates and/or web GUI skins these files must also be backed up
To move an installation all the data mentioned above must be moved to the new machine after the IPCheck software was installed.
