If you’re running PRTG with a version between 16.4.28.x and 17.2.31.2018 your installation has a little problem: It will not tell you that a newer version of PRTG exists. And it cannot update itself. Our fault! We accidentally deactivated the auto update function. We apologize!
The bug has been fixed in version 17.2.31.2153. You just need to do a manual update once, and everything will work automatically again. Here’s what you need to do:
- Log in to the PRTG web interface as administrator.
- Select Setup | Auto-Update in the main menu.
- Click the button „Check For Latest Update and Download“.
- Process the update manually following the instructions in the web interface.
PRTG will now inform you about new versions when they become available and it will update automatically (if you have selected this in the settings).
