The Paessler Router Traffic Grapher is a bandwidth meter that measures how much bandwidth gets used in a SNMP enabled network. In mere minutes, it can be setup to read traffic data from your router, which will then be displayed in clear, comprehensive graphs. With this bandwidth meter, you can measure bandwidth activity over the last 8-96 hours, and transferred data counts over the last 14 days or 12 months. Naturally, this means that the bandwidth meter has to be left running constantly, or the results won't be accurate.
Our bandwidth meter is most commonly used for monitoring leased lines, routers and firewalls, but there are many areas where it could be of assistance. For example, you might want to use our bandwidth meter to monitor managed switches, printers, or any other SNMP enabled network components. PRTG is available in two different version. The Free Edition of our bandwidth meter is available for both personal and commercial use. If you want to monitor more devices/ports or if you want to run the bandwidth meter as a NT service, you need the Pro Edition. Our bandwidth meter has received a lot of positive feedback from customers as well as industry press. Here's what one reviewer said:
"[...] PRTG is handy and easy to use. The thing that I like best about it is that it isn't overly complicated. It's nice to occasionally find a network tool that doesn't require an in-depth study of the documentation and an hour of trial and error.", Brien M. Posey on TechRepublic
